DAY 3 : HABARANA – DAMBULLA – MATALE – KANDY
After breakfast visit the Dambulla rock cave temple built by king Walagambahu, in the 1st Century B.C. it is a World Heritage Site, and the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples.
Leave for Kandy. En route to Kandy visit a specie garden at Matale to learn about species and their use in Sri Lankan cuisines. In the afternoon enjoy some sightseeing such as the Temple of Tooth Relic, an arts and crafts work shop, oriental market place, a bazaar and a gem lapidary where you can see how rough gems (particularly the famous Blue & Star sapphires) are mined cut and polished using traditional methods. In the evening enjoy a cultural show. Stay overnight in Kandy.
